IPL 2021: Match Preview Match 2: CSK v/s DC Who has an Upper hand in today's match

The 2nd match of IPL 2021 will be played between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals today(10th April) at Wankhede Stadium. Both the teams would be looking for a good start.

Chennai Super Kings

Last season of IPL was a nightmare for the franchise as it was for the first time that they did not qualify for the play-offs and ended the season at seventh position. So this time MS Dhoni led CSK will be trying to prove that 2020 was just an exceptional year.Last year who this franchise missed the most was Suresh Raina but this year he is back and will be trying to prove his form in the tournament. Apart form Raina, CSK also brought Robin Uthappa, Chetashwar Pujara, Moeen Ali, Faf Du Plesis, etc. which has strengthened the middle order of the team. CSK also has players like Faf Du Plesis, Ambati Rayadu,Ruturaj Gaikwad who can play big innings for the team. The franchise also has big hitters like Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni and Sam Curran who can change the whole game in just a few balls. Last year team missed the form of its core players like MS Dhoni and Dwayne Bravo who will be trying to show their real class and experience this season. The main pacers of the franchise are Deepak Chahar and Shardul Thakur(Jason Beherendorff and Lungi Ngidi are there but will be missing few matches due to quarantine). The team has a strong spin lineup including Imran Tahir, Ravindra Jadeja, Karn Sharma, K. Gowtham, etc.

Overall,CSK has a great squad and if all the players perform according to the expectations then this team can beat any other franchise

Delhi Capitals

Unlike CSK, Delhi Capitals had a great last season and managed to reach the finals for the first time and ended the season as runners up. The franchise got a huge blow before the starting of this season when their captain Shreyas Iyer had to be ruled out of the tournament due to shoulder injury. Rishabh Pant was given captaincy in absence of Shreyas. DC is a very strong side with a dependable and an explosive batting lineup as well as an attacking bowling side. They have players like Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Shimron Hetmyer, etc.who can play big shots at any point in the innings.the franchise also have strong finishers like Rishabh Pant and Marcus Stoinis who have proved their six hitting ability in previous seasons. Last year the biggest strength of Delhi were its bowlers who won them crucial matches. This year too the bowlers of DC are ready to give their best and contribute for the team.they have bowlers like Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje(both of the will not be playing today’s match due to quarantine), R.Ashwin, Axar Patel(may or may not play today’s match due to covid), Amit Mishra. The team also bought experienced players like Steve Smith and Umesh Yadav in the auction.

Overall DC seems to be a challenging side who have the ability to win any match.

IPL 2021: Is Rishabh Pant the right choice as Delhi Capitals captain

No doubt, Rishabh Pant is extremely talented player but is he the appropriate choice as a captain of a franchise? Rishabh Pant has been an important member of Delhi Capitals and has played the role of wicket-keeper and an explosive batsman pretty well. After the recent injury of Shreyas Iyyer and him removing his name from the tournament, it was a big question for Delhi Capitals that who will lead their team and they chose Rishabh Pant. Delhi capitals is a mixed team which has a perfect combination of youngsters like Prithvi Shaw, Avesh khan as well as highly experienced players like Ajinkya Rahane, Steve Smith, R. Ashwin and many more. When this news came out that Shreyas will not be participating in this season of IPL,many people expected that the franchise will give the captaincy to a more experienced player. This is a great opportunity for Rishabh Pant and I think that this can have a huge impact on his career. It won’t be easy for him to replace Shreyas Iyyer but I thi...

This has been a World Cup full of surprises, we have seen many things happening for the first time and many curses being broken. We saw the mighty Aussies at the 10th position briefly, we saw Netherlands and Afghanistan beating giants like South Africa and England, we saw the defending champions England lose 3 matches consecutively, we saw India beating New Zealand in a world cup match after a long 20 years. We have already discussed the Indian team’s fabulous performance in our previous blog and today we will discuss India's upcoming match against the defending champions England. On 29th October, India will be facing England at the Ekana Stadium, Lucknow. Both the teams are performing almost completely opposite to each other as one of them has been unbeaten so far while the other has lost its last 3 games. This really has been a World Cup England would want to forget as they were among the favorites but are probably out of the race of semifinals.  Even though England’s game hasn’t...
