IPL 2021: Is Rishabh Pant the right choice as Delhi Capitals captain

 


No doubt, Rishabh Pant is extremely talented player but is he the appropriate choice as a captain of a franchise?

Rishabh Pant has been an important member of Delhi Capitals and has played the role of wicket-keeper and an explosive batsman pretty well. After the recent injury of Shreyas Iyyer and him removing his name from the tournament, it was a big question for Delhi Capitals that who will lead their team and they chose Rishabh Pant.


Delhi capitals is a mixed team which has a perfect combination of youngsters like Prithvi Shaw, Avesh khan as well as highly experienced players like Ajinkya Rahane, Steve Smith, R. Ashwin and many more. When this news came out that Shreyas will not be participating in this season of IPL,many people expected that the franchise will give the captaincy to a more experienced player.

This is a great opportunity for Rishabh Pant and I think that this can have a huge impact on his career. It won’t be easy for him to replace Shreyas Iyyer but I think this season of IPL will help Rishabh in learning and improving his skills. With the help of players like Rahane and Smith, Rishabh will be able to get to know about many things which will help him throughout his career.

Rishabh is a young player with a determined and an attacking mindset, his performance in IPL is also remarkable. This is a big responsibility for Rishabh and I think that he will fulfill this responsibility and I think that he is the right choice.
